I guarantee every engine will run as I say it will...which too often, is not the case when you buy from an online auction, retailer or third party who is selling their Shay "AS IS"... I myself would rather pay for quality than pay for disappointment any day of the week... ALL of my engines have gone through a rigorous "Tune-Up" and have been broken in for about an hour in each direction on a "Testtraxx" so that when you receive your new engine you can take it right out of the box and begin running her on your layout...or perhaps...just set her down to look at...

This is a signed collectors copy, by the premier logging railroad writer himself, published in 1979 by The World Press Incorporated, of Denver, Colorado. The book is in mint shape...binding, dust cover and every page inside. There is a plastic dust cover, in excellent shape, protecting the book, yet not attached to the book thus preserving it's value. The outer cover picture is taken with this dust jacket on. This book recounts the fascinating and colorful history of a century and a half of logging railroads in the area that stretches from the Kennebec River in Maine to Puget Sound on the West coast and from the Gulf of Mexico to Alaska and Canada. Here in one oversize, profusely illustrated volume is the whole panoramic sweep of the heritors of Paul Bunyan, who came, who saw and who conquered the vast forests of the North American Continent. PFM built this Shay in 2 separate runs in 1982 for a 1982 total of 100 units. They then did 2 production runs in 1983 for a 1983 total of 53 units. So the total worldwide production of this Shay was a total of 153 units.
